Debra Bangs, DPT
Debbie is a 1990 graduate of Northeastern University and graduated from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2010 with her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Debbie has been working at MSS for 10+ years.
Debbie is a certified clinical instructor and is a certified Graston Practitioner. Debbie has over 27 years of experience working with the general orthopedic population and has taken many continuing education courses in the spine, vestibular disorders and ergonomics among others. Debbie’s clinical specialties include the spine, vestibular disorders (BPPV), balance and gait disorders and chronic pain management. Debbie’s approach to treatment includes an emphasis on manual therapy in addition to exercise and she believes in collaborating with patients to maximize their function and meet their individual goals.
In addition to her clinical practice, Debbie is an Assistant Clinical Professor and ACCE at Northeastern University. Debbie has been collaborating with MSS for her research projects. Debbie remains very involved in the American Physical Therapy Association of Massachusetts and is currently the Chairperson of their Education and research committee, and serves as an assembly representative for the Central District. She is also an active member of the Education Section and the Orthopedic section of the national American Physical Therapy Association where she has done several poster and platform presentations regarding her research interests in pilates, total knee arthroscopy and clinical education in Physical Therapy.
