Michael Coyne, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
Michael is a graduate of Springfield College’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) class of 2016. Prior to going to Springfield, Michael graduated from Norwich University’s Athletic Training program where he became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.
During his time at Springfield, he completed clinical rotations at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center (Cincinnati, OH), Falmouth Hospital (Falmouth, MA) and the Mountain Center (Conway, NH). While at Springfield College, Michael continued to work as an athletic trainer, spending most of his time with Gaelic Football teams out of the Irish Cultural Center in Canton. During his time at Norwich, he worked with the entire spectrum of sports the college offered with a particular focus on the hockey, football and lacrosse.
Michael enjoys working with all patients of different ages and backgrounds and has worked with individuals from the ages of 4 to 97. He uses a variety of treatment approaches to help you reach your goals. He is heavily influenced from coursework taken from both the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). He is currently working towards advanced certifications through both of these institutes. Additionally, he has a particular interest in pain science education and helping people understand their pain.
As an employee of Mass. Sport and Spine, he is the Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer of the South Shore Kings Junior Hockey teams. He works closely with the members of this organization and the training staff of EDGE performance facility with individualizing training programs and returning athletes to play.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys rock climbing, running, hiking, and skiing.
